Development Plan

The main determinants of our development plan are:
- to increase capacities, safety and reliability of operations of the existing gas storage facility in Okoli, while reducing the negative effects on the environment, and
- to build new storage capacities.

As part of the upgrade of the existing gas storage facility in Okoli, activities are planned for:
- increasing the maximum capacity of gas extraction from the storage facility to 280 000 m3/h;
- increasing the utilization of the working volume, which is currently at 60%;
- increasing the safety and reliability of operations by installing additional compressor units and a modern monitoring system for vibrations in the compressor station;
- installing a visual surveillance system for all buildings in the storage facility;
- modernization of the management system;
- building of storage equipment for operational and strategic reserves.

Significant importance is granted to reducing negative effects on the environment, which will be achieved by installing a system for reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.

The building of new storage capacities implies the construction of new gas storage facilities with the purpose of balancing the gas distribution system during peak consumption. Due to its many comparative advantages, the Grubišno Polje gas field was selected as the most favorable location for the construction of the new storage facility, which must be emptied in the period of one to two years before construction of the storage facility.

The main features of the new storage facility for covering peak loads will be:
- gas withdrawal capacity from the storage facility from 70 000 to 100 000 m3/h;
- working volume of storage facility of 25 million m3 of gas.

Also planned is the construction of two new wells, connection pipelines and above ground facilities for extracting gas from the storage facility and injecting gas into the storage facility.
